Magic
The Midnight campaign setting is a low-magic world, and the rules for using magic are different from the core rules.
The legate is the only player class capable of casting divine spells, much as the core rules cleric. All other divine and arcane spellcasting classes have been replaced by a single class, the channeler. The druid and wizard core classes are now prestige classes.
Although there is a channeler class, any character can potentially cast spells. Anyone can take the Magecraft and Spellcasting feats and learn to wield magic.
